Aluminum Flex Fans:
My tip is real simple. If you have an aluminum flex fan on your engine, throw it away. I had one on my 69 Stepside and one of the blades broke off and shot through the hood. (even the hood reinforcement) Could have easily been my head. I now use an original 4 blade steel fan. I also had to replace the hood. If you decide not to take my advice, then at least don't stick your head under the hood while the engine is running.
