Addition to Bolting a 73-85 Front Crossmember To a 67-72 Chevy

This One Was Sent In By: Scooter

Installing later model crossmember. I just completed this swap. It was a lot of work. Of the seven holes on each side only one hole on each side didn't line up. I used an '84 2WD Suburban for a donor. Here is what is needed from the donor vehicle: Crossmember, upper and lower control arms, spindles, rotors, calipers, sway bar, tie rod ends (inner & outer), center link, idler arm, pitman arm, master cylinder, brake lines, proportioning valve, piston between booster and master cylinder. It is easier to do this swap with engine out of the vehicle. Bolt up as many bolts as you can, then drill the remaining two holes into the frame that don't line up. Bolt everything else up and you're ready to go. If the vehicle did not have power brakes to begin with, additional parts will be needed.
