Hey guys!

Ok, I've gotta decide what I want to do with the body of my truck here. I need to replace my cab supports, replace just the very bottom part of my cab corners, replace some rot in my fenders and change out my box.

Whats the best way for a guy to cut out the rot from his truck and get the new patches cut to fit properly? I don't have a lot of rust work to do, not very extensive at all, but I do wanna fix it and get it all sealed up before I hit the winter and come out on the otherside with little to no truck left... The body on my truck is real straight, only one ding on the driver's side fender.

Basically, I can easily weld them in (I've got the mig with the gas bottle) but I'm not wanting to cut stuff and warp everything up...

just be very patient with it all. measure twice and cut once. and when you weld just go one tack at a time slowly letting it cool inbetween each tack. i dont know if i made any sense but i gave it a shot. good luck, steve

im using a cut off saw on most of mine then i think easiest way will be to cut out pieces in thin cardboard and test fit then transfer to replacement if just doing partial pieces. from what i understand properly bracing and constantly checking fit to door are most important factors. also what highboy said about not getting too hot.
