uhhhh, i'm pretty sure PPG is forever if you are certified. paint, if properly taken care of, should last forever. rust doesnt form under paint unless its from behind or it was already there. paint doesnt peel unless improperly applied or defective (example-90's chevy white trucks). how long has it been since paint?

If the repairs are done correctly and good materials are used it should last indefinately until the paint breaks down which should be years and years with proper care. Are you having probs with your paint smokin?

>X<; don't forget the earlier 90's Ford and Merc. Sables, Topaz's, and the Ford trucks that were painted silver or dark or light met. blue.

The paint suppliers had one heck of a time with the corrosion and peeling problems.
Painted more warranty jobs than you could count! :D

GMC, just something Ive always wondered about those peelers.

My thinking is most that Ive seen are two-toned. Factory applied sealer then the first coat of base. Allowed base to flash then masked off truck and applied the second color. Am thinking by the time they got the second color one the time window on the sealer had expired and the basecoat didnt get good enough bite.

just one of my random thoughts...Eric

i was only like 5 years old then! i just had to paint a 90 chev wt and after that i started noticing that most of the white ones were peelers.
