has anyone tried this using the torsion bar suspension? if so please let me know how it worked out and what you had to do. thanks

It can be done. :) GMC's came with the big 305 V6's in them. :)
A kid I went to high school with has a 1960 swb fleetside small window "custom" Apache with all the chrome trim. :) He dropped in a 396 big block that he had bored over to a 409 backed by a built Th400 trans. Boy that truck could scoot down the road. :D :metal: :cool: :bowtie: The last time I seen the truck was about 7 years ago, and I ran into him last summer, he said he has only filled the tank up twice since. If I remember right, his brother said it ran in the low 11's. :confused:
