I am doing it right now...and all i'm doing it moving the gas tank from the cab and turning it around that for the fill up is on the passanger side and bolting it on the back on the box and putting a strip of wood along the bottom that for i can bolt the bottom in aswell...i don't know its the best way to do it but it'll work for me cause now i have two 12 inch subs there...

J/K... I do have a spare, and really don't plan on keeping it in the truck. If I get a flat, I'll call AAA and have it towed on a flatbed back to my house. Convienent, not really, but I will view it as just another thing to keep my day interesting.

i used a jaz 16 gallon fuel cell because it doesn't hang down low like the blazer tanks and it was cheaper than buying an aluminum tank kit. http://homepages.go.com/~crazyrodent/fuelcell.jpg

i'm not done with the bed. i have a locking door above it in the bed for now.

I did this on my 67 short stepside. Heated up the inlet on the plastic tank and ran straight up through the box floor using a marine filler. Looks and works great. I looked for an old blazer tank, but have had so much problems with old tanks that I went with a Plastic repo from:

Tank, straps, and sending unit came to $224
A little pricey but no more rust problems.

Spare tire? These 67 stepsides have a nifty place built right in the side. How thoughtfull of Chev. Out here in the country AAA might never find you.

I did it , with parts from a salvage yard,old nova tank I think, blazer filler tube and inlet. With the step side it was easy to come out the fender with the fill hose.

Heres my version of tank relocate and spare relocate. And no, that tire is not touching my paint and only one screw in the bed with a clamp on the rail ( protected by rubber of course). Tank door is from a 83 BMW and the filler neck from a 78 Suburban. The tank is a brand new Blazer tank.

I'm putting a blazer tank under my pick up. Well, i will be if Early classic ever sends it to me. I orded it a week and a half ago. They've been paid and i'm still without parts. Anyway, I have an idea that if it works is gonna be awesome. My dad's really giving me hell saying that it's not going to work, but i know i can make it work. I'm going to put a blazer tank under the bed and run aluminum tubing from the tank, down the frame and up to the original filler spot in the cab. If it works, when i'm done i'll have plenty of pics on my web site.

used a blazer tank and skid plate. and no i dont have a spare. (always carry a plg kit with me lol) gonna try to bring the fill tube out between the frame and bed on my stepside instead of in the bed
