View Full Version : Front Spoiler-Do you think this would look cool or like a POS?
Low69CST 03-24-2001, 11:44 PM I'm really into what is called pro-touring. I like the old muscle cars with 18's and big wide tires that are sat on the ground with big brakes showing through the wheels and all that junk. Well, one thing i've noticed is that alot of the guys with old pro-touring muscle cars are doing alot with aerodynamic addons, like spoilers, ground effects, ect. In a few magazine advertisments i've seen a front spoiler for our 67-72 trucks. All i've seen of it is in the magazinees. I don't know how it installs or exactly what it connects to. However, i've seen other muscle cars that are lowered with front spoilers right on the ground. I think it really completes a mean looking stance. However I don't know if it would look cool on our trucks or not. Recently i was screwing around on Ebay and found a 70 C/10 for sale. It actually had one of these front spoilers on it. However this truck looked to be considerably higher than my truck. It also looked like this spoiler wraped around the front portion of each fender, but i'm not really sure. I did make sure to save the pics to my computer. I put one of the pics on my homepage so if would take a look and tell me what you think. I'll get the other pics put on there as soon as I get a chance. However, keep in mind that my truck is alot lower plus will be running 18's with a low profile tire like BFB G-force KD's. I've measured my truck before, the magazine says this thing is 5inches wide, that would put it about 2 inches off the ground on my truck, if it connects right to the bumper. I'd like to know what you all think it would look like, also if any of you have tried putting one of these on.....whats it like? Sorry for the long message and thanks for any input.

This web site crap sucks sometimes.
Chevyc10! 03-25-2001, 08:06 AM The pic on your website (maroon color 69) looks OK, the bumper looks out of place on with the spoiler. Don't know how it is attached but doesn't look like it is attached at the bumper. Which brings me to my next point. If you go with the spoiler try it with a front roll pan. Probably would look a lot better. IMO...

Primer_72 03-25-2001, 08:43 AM I agree. It looks pretty cool and it would probably look better if you put on a front roll pan AND the spoiler, and lose the bumper...good luck man....

DUTCHMAN 03-25-2001, 09:59 AM Hey Low, I'm with you. I also like these fat lowered claccics. I've been looking to these airdams too, but with that many speedbumps here in my town I think it won't work.
Saw these front spoilers or airdams advertised by http://www.zmotive.com/category.asp Airdam was only $78.75 and the hardware kit was $13.65

Benrs86 03-25-2001, 02:46 PM I like the looks too. I think there is a air dam at eastcoastcustoms.com
BadAzz70PU 03-25-2001, 03:22 PM I think it looks good on that truck but with it being only 2 in off the ground, you are going to have trouble driving anywhere with it.
I actually like that pink truck on the bottom of your page except for the color and the bed. Sorry...

Low69CST 03-25-2001, 04:08 PM The air dam at East Coast Customs is the one I had seen before.

There is a picture of it. They actually have 2 different ones now. One with holes for lights and one solid. When you look at the picture online, i see no tabs or anything for this to attatch to the truck. I see where it wraps around the fender, but even if it attaches there, it should have something to hold it in the middle.
I know some of you guys like roll pans, hey i think some of the rear roll pans look good. But I would haul my truck to the dump before i put a front roll pan on it. Chopping the top, front roll pan and suicide doors are a few of the things that really turn me off about a truck.
I was hoping i could find someone that had put one on before and could tell me how they installed. I like them, but I don't know if i want to drill holes in a new chrome bumper or drill holes in the sides of my fenders.
