Apply a white or tinted sealer if available before applying your base color. Light colors such as yellows/oranges/and some reds along with other light shades of most any color are somewhat TRANSPARENT. If you paint over primer, "grey/brown/black" then you'll get a brownish tint to your paint until true color is achieved, often taking more paint and time than needed. Speak with your paint supplier about what to use with the type of paint your using. I have even used a thin white laquar coat of paint that can be sanded if you get a run, with sealers often can not be sanded. If you use laquar paint, allow it to dry a couple of hours, wet sand and paint. Great results, and a good check coat before applying expensive paint. GO YELLOW!!!!!
