For starters how about the internally regulated alternator conversion, installing power booster on brakes, various ways of putting disc brakes on the front of these things. Just a few things from the top of my head. Even some more basic things like pulling the engine or dropping a tranny.

Is there any way to indicate in the thread title what year trucks the tips apply to?
Just a thought.

As for new ones.....how about replacing the top door hinge in 73-87s.
Maybe a R4 to R134 A/C conversion too.

Photographs of redoing wooden bed floor/bed strips/etc.

Option code list along with what options entailed, like CST package, custom package, etc.

Engine/transmission/rearend casting code deciphering.

I'll second the Camaro tach install. Tried searching the board but I guess it's not working.

I just scored a tach from a 1981 Z-28 and I'm considering adding it to my stepside. Is this year useable and has anyone done a "how to"? I recall threads on this in the forum but without the search, they cannot be found.

I request how to make 72 door panels work on a 71 and earlier door. The process would be made easier with some pics of modifying the lower holes for the 72 plastic studs. A few others have asked so I must not be alone in wanting to see how to do this properly.

Any thoughts on how to install an air bag (safety, not suspension) in an older vehicle? Can I just get the air bag (entire steering column) and the sensor and any control module required and hook it up, or do they all go through the ECM?

I had this idea too, until someone reminded me about all the engineering and testing that goes into an air bag setup, it is designed only for the vehicle it is in, and really shouldn't be retrofitted into an older vehicle unless you have a death wish...

Probably worth pointing out that the exact same statement is true if you wanted to retrofit ABS to an older vehicle.

I realize that there can be a ton of variables to this request, but what I would like to see is a basic guide on lowering our trucks.Pictures that show you what your ride will look like with a certain setup. For instance,if I was thinking about a 4-6 static drop, what would it look like and possibly some options for how to achieve it.This would be a huge project though.

Probably worth pointing out that the exact same statement is true if you wanted to retrofit ABS to an older vehicle.

Would probably be fairly easy if you took the ABS system from a RWAL (rear-wheel-anti-lock) 88-~93-ish truck, they just looked at the VSS and automatically backed off the rear if the driveshaft locked or rapidly plummeted in speed. AWAL (all-wheel-anti-lock) would require a ton of custom fabricating/machining (adding hall effect sensors & reluctator rings to each wheel, all new lines, extra sensors & wiring) though.
