Sears has a sale this weekend and I would like to get a compressor. The largest portable one they have is a two stage twenty five gallon with 175psi. Would this be big enough to run a HVLP gun. They also have this compressor with a seventy gallon tank but it is not portable plus it is going in the garage so I would prefer the smaller one.I need some opinions. Thanks.

Brad I beleive that 2-stage would be a good compressor.

From what I have seen, it all depends on what you want and what you are willing to spend.
There are many different models and manufacturers out there. As to whether or not that particular compressor will run that gun, I'm not sure. See what the gun needs as far as air and then compare it to the output of the compressor.
The two stage (110V) that Sears has doesn't have the output of a "traditional" two stage.
I still haven't decided what I'm gunna buy but I think it might be from this company. http://www.bright.net/~mcain/pic11.html

With compressors, bigger is always better. You'd be amazed at how much air painting/sandblasting/sanding takes from a compressor. Keep an eye out for used two-stage compressors. The good ones last forever.

I have a 61/2 hp. 60 gallon compresser, that I wouldnt trade for anything "well almost anything" I have had the little jobbys you can do alot with them if you have the time too wait on them to catch up. if you use impact guns die grinders, takes alot of air... & it will run all day!! but really it comes down to what you want!
