This is the info provided by Fast68Chevy to my questions on tie-rod end interchange when doing a 67-72 disc brake swap.

 67-70 tie-rod ends will interchange.
 71-up tie-rod ends will interchange.
 67-70 ends are too small for 71-up, you must use 71-up inner and outer tie-rod ends when using 71-up spindles.
 www.classicperform.com (http://www.classicperform.com) sells a custom tie-rod adjusting sleeve which will allow you to use the stock 67-70 inner tie rod ends/center link with 71-up outer rod ends.

 When using 71-up spindles on a 67-70 (and not using the custom sleeve) you must change the centerlink to a 71-up to allow use of 71-up inner ends, adjusting sleeve and outer ends.
 The pitman arm and idler arm on a 68-up with power steering and a 64-up with manual steering WILL fit into any 71-up centerlink.

 Pitman arms will all fit the centerlinks of all Chevy IFS years with manual steering, and late 68-up with power steering. The splined end for the sector shaft of the boxes differ in diameter between manual steering and early 68-down power steering.

 4x4 boxes wont fit 4x2 arms and vice versa.

the pitman arms will all fit the centerlinks of all Chevy IFS years with manual steering, and on late 68 with P/S, its just the splined end for the sector shaft of the boxes that differs in diamter, thats between manual and power.

That, and 4x4 boxes wont fit 4x2 arms and vice versa.

getting detailed, heh

a couple more thoughts, the turning radius will be shortened if the 71 lower a-arms are not used when doing a disc conversion with stock parts. also the 73 up spindles can be used, with the corresponding balljoints,& outer tierod end.

I would check to see if your pitman arm is centered on the steering box. the way I check mine during assembly,is turn the steering wheel all the way to lock, then turn it the other way all the way to lock & count the turns. Now turn it back 1/2 the distance,& with the wheels straight, install the pitman on the box. Good luck....Hotrodhorn

71-72 outer tie rods are the same

73-87 outer tie rods differ from 71-72.

The sleve your talking about from CCP allows you you to use 73-87 spindle in 67-72 trucks( Ball joint's must be 73-87) 73-87 outer tie rods and 67-70 outer tie rod for use on the inner is the set-up you will need to use Trust ME.
