:gi: With the success of the North Texas board meet last August I figure its time to start talking about the next one. Maybe some time in March. It would give us time to get all the details worked out. Lets have your ideas. :fb:

Remember that dude at the last one that came walking up and sounded like he was going to start shooting people? His name was Dallas something. He scared the bejeezus out of me for a second.

I would like to suggest that we go to Fredricksburg on Memorial weekend. The Texas Street Machine Nationals is a great car/truck show that moved from Waco to Fredricksburg last year. It's in a very nice park and has lots of room for everyone. It is very family oriented with lots of things for the kids to do if you bring them. There are plenty of hotels in all price ranges close by, and lots of shopping for the ladies too.

Let me know what y'all think...

I DEFENTLY want to go, I know I have no chance of winning, hope to have the truck completed sonw by then, I've went threw 2 paints jobs in a month, lol, i hate being a perfectionist. If I can get off I'll defently go, I'll need some help when I get there thought, if some of yall wont mind. The timing will defently be off iono why but my truck does that on road trips and I don't know how to sit the timing up. I'll try to bring some of the car club, they probly don't wanna come, were about to split up anyways. Just can yall post what motels yall are stayin at and stuff like that, I'm 18 and will be probly makin the trip alone, so I need all the help I'll be able to get down there. I was also wondering does anyone know how much is will be to enter, or anything. Thanks .

Fredericksburg would be great. Its a little far ( about 260 miles from Ft Worth)
for just a local board meet. Might be good for an all Texas meet. Maybe that would be a good trip for our own sort of Power Tour. It would be great to have about alot of trucks to go down together. I was thinking about something a little closer to the metroplex and a little sooner.

I would be willing to join in on a caravan to Fredricksburg. We used to go to the Waco mini nats all the time. Even got our group pictured in Truckin magazine in 96 or so. :metal: Funny thing is it is our backside cause its during the tug of war contest lol. Assuming the weather is decent might even crank the ol Jimmy up and drive down topless woohoo....Had it down there when I first got it and even if it gets to 100 in the day those spring nights can be still be cool enough to use the heater with the top off lol.

I would also be willing to meet some of these Chevy nuts locally too. I am 100 miles NE of most of ya but what can be better than a road trip in a Chevy right?

Something closer to the DFW area would be good. Missed the one last year. Truck wasn't driveable anyway, then noticed about 2 weeks too late that it had passed. Fredricksburg is a bit of a haul in an old hauler. Just don't trust it that much yet.

I think a we should do both. Have a local meet near the Mid-Cities area in DFW, (for the members who can't make the distance), then work up a road trip for the guy's who can. I would try to make both!

I would like to do one closer that I could try to bring the old truck to. Then maybe the Fredricksburg with the newer truck. Something in March to work towards getting the truck in shape.

Yea, I would prefer something closer to home too! We could meet somewhere at a park or at Joe Pool Lake or someplace like that....just a suggestion. It would give me some incentive to get to working on my truck.
OH, and any of you DFW guys know how to mess with the shift linkage from the column to the tranny PLEASE let me know. I need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whine:

Cedar Hill State park?

Kind of in the middle, big, lots to do.

No alcoholic beverages, and a fee to get in.

Is there some place in Arlington where we could have it. That is probably the half way point in DFW area. A nice park where the kids could play (We had a couple last year and it was a overcast day.) I could locate some in Fort Worth but do not know Arlington to well.

Kevin might have some good ideals in the HEB area since he is a fireman over there. I know there are some really cool parks over there with ample parking area.

I am in on the local one... Maybe the one to fredricksburg depending on the date.

So when is this gonna happen? Or should I say. What are some dates we are looking at for this.

No one has set a date, so I will throw a couple out there.

March 26 or
April 2
Both are Saturdays, one week apart.

Blue68 suggested Cedar Hill, That looks like a great place. Here is the link to the park.

I can get location. It's the old Cattle Barron Steak house.
It's in the Ft Worth area. I-30 and Whites Chapple
Owner said we can use the parking lot, if we don't get to roudy, "You know how thoes
67-72 truck boy's can get".

The old steak house would be great for me as it's about a mile from my private "Tx Firefighter Signature series Junkyard".

The dowside is, there is no bathroom on that site, so ya'll will be pee-n in the wind. There's lots of cows there, so hope you don't get stage fright in front of the cattle.

I would really like some suggestions or opinions on what Ive got so far and I would also like to see what some of the projects yall have been working are like. Here are some maps to get to the old Cattle Baron Steak House. I believe it is just across the Tarrant County/Parker County line, off of White Settlement Road. If you are coming from Fort Worth or anywhere east, from the west side of loop 820 (north of I-30) take White Settlement Road and go west. The road gets kinda narrow and isn't the best once you get in the more rural area. There is a gas station on the corner of White Settlement Road and Cattle Baron Road. Turn north (right) and go up over the hill and the Steak House is on your left (west) in that area.

Went and checked out the site this weekend and it looks great. I hope nobody will be offended by the fine fragrance of the nearby dairy farm. It is 4.5 miles from 820 to Cattlebarron Rd. Turn right and go 1 mile. I hope we have a great turnout.

Bagged69, if it's like the last board meeting, you will want to supply your own vittles.

Don't worry though, it's the best bunch of folks you'll ever meet. No one will nab your groceries.

negative, it's been closed several years.

This is an ideal location for the event. It's completely rural. I remember a shade tree in the parking lot too.

Lots of smelly dairy cows there too.

Somebody always forgets.I am also bringing a 10x10 popup cover and a table. Ill have a signin sheet and have my son bring the good digital camera so we can get everybodys picture and rides posted on the board.
