Just wanted to hear some input on paint guns you guys are using / have used. I am looking to buy a decent paint gun to paint automotive and motorcycle related parts and body pieces. I am considering painting my Camaro also. I'm not apposed to paying some money for a quality product if there is reason to...

Also, a friend of a friend is selling a digital SATA gun I considered buying. Is there any reason to not buy a used gun if it has been maintained well other than the obvious (everything breaks eventually).

Thanks for any insight!

Well the first thing to consire is the NOT the gun but the source of air-the air compressor.
Without the proper air needed that 500 dollar SATA WILL spray no better and probably worse then a 20 dollar Harbor freight wonder.

Personally SATA's are the best outthere, just ask any PRO painter. The NR2000 and the RP are both top notch guns, I have them both.

The LMC2000 guns are not the best guns in the world. I have one and wouldnt use it for nothing but primer. Too small of a spray pattern.

KLC primer guns are sweet.

How much air is needed do you think for small projects? Say I was going to be shooting parts one at a time letting the air rebuild between each part (maybe an inner fender? 20 gallons? What about to shoot a car?
I already have a regulator and filter with a water seperator. Anything else I'm missing?

another vote for Sata or Iwata. i am more of a body man but i own 6 or 7 iwata's ranging from the LPH 400 (bad daddy hvlp) to the custom micron airbrush. the only thing i like better about the rp than my lph is the digital part. if iwata made a digital i would buy it tomorrow.

i would jump on that used sata, you could always get the rebuild kit for it, but it prob doesnt need it depending on how old it is. good tools last forever

He wants 220 for the gun. It's a SATA K3 I think. Is that reasonable?
