Never painted the complete inside of a bed and I'm having trouble planning how to do so. Therefore, I need to know the best way to paint the inside of a 1970 c10 bed and floor. Thanks for any suggestions.

For the inside of the bed, I will lay down cardboard and stand inside the bed to paint the inside walls and wheelwells first. I would then set up some kind of short scaffold down both sides of the outside of the bed to get high enough so I can reach all the way into the center of the bed to shoot the floor. I am doing basecoat/clearcoat so after shooting both stages on the walls and wheelwells, I'll wait a day then mask them off to prevent overspray when I do the floor. The ideal situation would be to have the bed removed and stand it on end to shoot the inside. BDowell 03-03-2005, 12:29 PM Got it painted last week. Painted walls and wheel tubs, waited a couple of days then painted floor, turned out fine. The best way to spray would be to pull it all apart and paint in pieces (Granted the owner wants to spend more money to do it right). 82 Silverado 4X 03-03-2005, 04:32 PM Got it painted last week. Yes, I agree, it would be nice to have it all in peices, but like you said, it all depends on how much time ($$$) you have to put into it. I'm glad it worked out for you. |
