Hello,
I'm from Fredonia, NY. I'v wanted a truck for a while now. I'll be driving in a few week[ 16 years old :metal:]. I have a 1944 John Dreere B i'm restoring, i'm looking for a 44 truck to go with it. Go here to see photos (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/minimag1989/album?.dir=cd9d&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/minimag1989/my_photos)

What aould be a good truck that could handle towing 3000-5000 lb? per 1959?

Thanks dj

:welcome2: to the boards, from canada!!I am not sure if you know but there was no automobiles produced for the general public from earily 1943-1945 :whine: .This includes all north american auto makers. The goverments step in and stopped all prodution(other than millitary vehicles)this was to conserve war time materials. In late 42 all vehicles had not bright work(painted grills and bumpers). These years were known as the"black out years"
Then the production line opened in 46.There was a shortage of materials and General Motors also had a strike  ,so the production numbers were low. There was a lot of millitary vehicles made in 43-45,but trying to find one now is almost impossible!! ;) This was a good question and i hoped i helped you
