Ironhorse 03-28-2005, 08:22 PM Justin, Still have the tank. Will be sending pics to your email.
shortbed70 03-30-2005, 09:30 PM I just moved from KS but I would like to see it also. What would shipping be to 28117. candyedgemon@yahoo.com
Ironhorse 03-30-2005, 10:20 PM Why would you want to leave all the scenic wonders of Kansas for another state, LOL? Will send some pics via your email link. Not sure about shipping costs, have to find a suitable box and get a quote.
shortbed70 04-01-2005, 06:07 PM Since its a 60s model sub would it fit under a 65 chevy truck? Was it mounted under the center of the cargo area? Let me know what shipping works out to be and I'll talk it over with my wife. Thanks for the pics. I'll let you know this weekend.
Ironhorse 04-01-2005, 07:16 PM Not sure how it would fit under a 65 pickup bed but I would think it could be adapted to fit. When I installed my poly tank (about the same physical size) on my '71 I placed the fuel filler inlet in the left rear wheel well tub inside the bed about half way up. I did not remove the tank, I got it along with a group of parts I purchased when I was restoring my '71 4x4. The tank and a few oddds and ends in the 60-66 era were included. Have not found a box large enough to ship the tank in, the tank inlet causes a larger box to be used. Soon as I can find a box large enough I will get a shipping quote.
shortbed70 04-03-2005, 06:34 PM Sounds good and I'm still working on my wife.
Ironhorse 04-03-2005, 08:49 PM Thanks for the update. I will keep looking for a box to ship the tank in and will get a shipping quote soon as possible.

Sent you a email with shipping costs to your zip. Let me know if still interested, thanks.
shortbed70 04-05-2005, 10:11 PM Well I tried to get her to go for it but she says were to tight right now for the project after all it is her truck, I just maintain it,clean it,fix it, and did all the work when repainting it but it is HERS... Sorry man I would love to take it off your hands and for that price is a he11ova deal but she says no. Thanks for all your trouble and sorry to make you do all that for me to have her say no.
AustinBelair 04-05-2005, 11:13 PM Since shortbed70 can't do it, I'd be interested in it if the shipping isn't too expensive
can you get me a ballpark on doing so ?

Ironhorse 04-06-2005, 05:19 AM Shortbed70, Understand about the "little woman", gotta' keep'em happy or homelife can be he**.
AustinBelair, will get a shipping quote for you.
Ironhorse 04-06-2005, 07:44 PM AustinBelair, sending you a PM
shortbed70 04-07-2005, 10:29 PM Yah I wish I could because I'm tired of having that tank behind the seat but making this move has got us so streched I can't get anything as she said so. Sorry once again and I thank you for the quote.
Ironhorse 04-12-2005, 09:06 AM AustinBelair, Sent you a PM (4-06-05)with shipping costs, shows still unread. Email is blocked from the board, still interested in the tank? Let me know.
Ironhorse 04-14-2005, 07:48 PM No response from AustinBelair after a week so tank is back up for sale. $50 plus shipping.
jchav62 04-28-2005, 06:22 PM Does this tank have a cutout for the spare tire? My friend has a 65 panel and it does. I've been looking for a suburban tank for my 62. Seems like it would be an easy job......assuming the frames are similar from a truck to a panel..Did you ever have this tank in your 71?
Ironhorse 04-28-2005, 07:22 PM Not sure as to how to answer your question since the tank came to me in a "pile 'a parts" I bought when I was restoring my '71 4x4. I never had the tank installed in my '71 before re-locating gas tank to under the bed. Was told the tank came from a '66 Suburban, tank is rather rectangular with no obvious "cut-out" portion as you can see from the pic. If you have other questions feel free, will do my best to answer. :)
