ezernut9mm 03-22-2005, 12:59 AM not trying to bust your balls, but there are alot of spammers that troll boards like this looking for e-mail addys and tel. #'s to spam. that being said, hopefully this forum will get rolling and there will be a big mo meet sometime. that'd be cool!
crews 03-22-2005, 01:25 AM No problem -didn't take any offense...I was too stupid to think that all the way through....A Missouri meet is WAY overdue...There are lots of members here, with a lot of them in the KC area.

If you are meanin me, No I haven't. I graduated High School in '80, and been with the USAF since Mar '81. That pretty much sums up my employment history.
Another thing to add, I have been deer hunting (nature watching, it seems) between Ashland and Guthrie / New Bloomfield Missouri also. In case anyone ever gets out there during the season. I will be trying to get out there more during the summer for squirrel season too. Does anyone live near that area?

Have an 85 Silverado at the moment but am considering getting a 52 Chevy...
Joey-D 03-27-2005, 05:40 PM Kdawd- Always wondered, what does that running man with a butcher knife in your avatar mean?
8t5silverado- ever done business with craigs auto rebuilders in buford on 50? I was looking at a 94 3/4 ton burban they have.
KdawgS10 03-27-2005, 07:11 PM ever heard of the band ICP. well thats thier logo.
and craigs auto sucks ass. way to high priced ,unless thier the only ones with the part, stay away.
Joey-D 03-27-2005, 07:25 PM those chicken hunters huh?
Joey-D 03-27-2005, 07:33 PM Craigs has a 94 c2500 burban that needs a fender, amber marker, and bumper. The truck looks nice other than that. Its a 454 auto. A rare truck to begin with, but they are only asking $2900 for it. Surely a bunch of miles, but one hell of a price for a 3/4 ton clean burb.

New to the area and would like to get together locally or a shindig this spring. Maybe we could start narrowing down a month and maybe a weekend or two. Then we could locate a park or maybe a couple of locations and put it to a vote. Couple of years ago I helped put together one for another forum and thats how we took it from idea to actually meeting.
Let me know and I will assist, and dont mean to take over the idea. Just a few ideas. Anyone want to get together for a beer or dinner let me know.

A meet would be a great idea!!!
Joey-D 03-29-2005, 10:20 PM A meet is a fantastic idea. Though half are springfield area, half are from st. louis area, and half are from kc area (good thing I know trucks better than math). Someone suggested the ozarks, which is a great idea, but how many of ya'all trucks will make it that far. I know my 69 won't (no drivetrain) and the big 85 is apart....and when back together 6.72 gears and 48's probaly won't go good on the highway. But it still would be fun to meet everyone and drink some yager on the party cove......
I dont know how many members would be up to coming to where i am but i would gladly host the meet if i can get anough paople to come to such a small town,I can rent a little diner and it has a good sized parking lot, nothing goes on here but we could get together and bring what parts we have and just sit and shoot the bull.Any interest?
8t5Silverado 03-30-2005, 01:13 PM My father-in-law knows the guys at Craig Automotive and they have given him some good deals (of course my teenage brother-in-law has deposited four cars their in the last three years...don't ask, it would be five but he still has it sitting).
He got a decent 96 Acura that only needed a fender, light, and front bumper for a little over 2k.
Joey-D 03-31-2005, 12:03 AM I decided to pass on it, the won't get my questions answered and I am not going to take off work to look at a truck I am only iffy about. But mostly, the burb hass 166xxx miles on it and they forgot to tell me it needs the quarter skinned. And on a burb, that is a bitch.

bumpsburb 04-05-2005, 10:07 PM What amenities are there to host a shin dig? Is there a park or are you volunteering to host it (location only as I do not believe you should incur the cost of feeding me unless you want to )? We could get some volunteers to supply food, beverages etc...
Lets get this going. Sounds like fun! :metal:

I think i could come up with burgers and fries and maybe some hotdogs. It would be nice to get together.Whos all in for it,or am i wasteing time thinking about having a meet in the middle of nowhere? Also if you wanted to we could have it at my house(80 acres in the middle middle of nowhere)and maybe pick someones truck and work on it for a day,i think that would be fun!Any ideas guys lets get one going ok?
Joey-D 04-06-2005, 08:13 PM Im in if ya'all are serious and can decide on a good weekend
bumpsburb 04-06-2005, 10:56 PM Lets have a shin dig!
I am open to any location or weekend. Who knows hot to post a poll? We can decide on a location and a weekend by popular vote. For those of us that might have their families along a place with something for them to do or at a lake and we can take a few boats along and have some fun on the water or let them take the boats out while we grill a few dogs and burgers.
If we have it somewhere inbetween St Louis and Kansas City we could attract a few more members from both ends of the state.
I can provide the beverages, beer and soft drinks.
Maybe do it in May before it gets to hot. And as far as working on a truck, I will volunteer mine :metal: 87 Suburban. I have done all the mechanical stuff now I am ready for the body work.
I have been looking at designs for a truck and on the photoshop page Zumo created a woody Suburban. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php3?t=149350 that is what I am going to do with mine.
That is my two cents and am open to suggestions and input. I can help as much or as little as ya'll would like.

stepside454 04-06-2005, 11:40 PM just a note... The Midwest Classic Chevy/GMC Truck Club will be having the annual rally @ Arnold City park Oct.15th.
for some reason I recall a nice park in Vienna MO...a little NW of Rolla...thats pretty centrally located. :b69:
I've never heard of the "The Midwest Classic Chevy/GMC Truck Club "
Is there a website?
I'm up for the shin dig. I'd prefer a place like Columbia (half way between KC and St. Louis) or the Ozarks (pretty much the same reason plus the go kart tracks)
I need about 30 days notice to get off work (yes I work weekends and nights)
The pick a truck and work on it sounds like fun! Does anyone have a project that they need to start?
Mike K 04-07-2005, 08:05 AM Couple of thing of interest.
Midwest Classic Chevy/GMC Truck Club website -> http://clubs.hemmings.com/midwestclassicchevy
I'll have a booth at the swapmeet at Riverport on April 24 trying to sell some truck parts. I don't have the location number, but just look for Kelley Classic Truck Parts and I should be there. (http://www.kelleyparts.com)

Custom 68 04-07-2005, 04:53 PM Welcome to the board Louie from another Springfieldian...Good lookin truck you have.
Joey-D 04-07-2005, 11:00 PM I have a spot for riverport also
Mudder 04-08-2005, 02:31 PM I think a meet at the lake would be most fair for everyone and give everyone a fair chance of attending. I can throw some bucks in for food. Brewski? :)
bumpsburb 04-09-2005, 11:04 AM What is riverport?
Mudder 04-09-2005, 01:07 PM A very large swap meet the 24th.
bumpsburb 04-09-2005, 04:36 PM Where is the swapmeet?
Mudder 04-09-2005, 06:02 PM Think its called UMB Pavilion at Riverport. Its a huge weekend swap meet. Some say takes two days to see it all.
bumpsburb 04-09-2005, 09:25 PM Is that here in St Louis? If so it is in my backyard, about 2 miles away. If it is and you plan on coming to it let me know and we can get together
Bump
stepside454 04-09-2005, 09:35 PM Earth City..Riverport Amphitheater....more specifically UMB Bank pavillion
Joey-D 04-09-2005, 09:43 PM Yeah the old schoolers know it as riverport, youngens as umb bank pavillion. UMB bought the name of the place just like busch stadium and twa dome. Last year at that swapmeet I started out looking at all the tables, then by the very end was running by them. The meet is HUGE. My boss was telling me how they park on one side at riverport, walk half it, then go park on the other side at some resturaunt so they don't have to walk there stuff so far back!
whitesswj 04-11-2005, 12:49 AM Ok, it's official... Me and the wifey and the "bun in the oven" are moving back to MO from Arkansas. We will be moving to Hannibal Mo no later than the end of this month.
It'll be good to get away from that part of Arkansas (don't get me wrong i love the western half of AR as i was born and raised there but the delta region is god forsaken) and move to hannibal. anyone close. thanks sswj
Mudder 04-11-2005, 01:39 AM Just sw of STL here. And welcome back!!! :)

TsgtE662 04-12-2005, 09:53 AM Since movin to Maryland Heights I have noticed atleast two 69-70 Chevy pickups. One is on the street over from mine sittin on a trailer. I don't think either person gets on here that I know of. One is a dark brown and always in a garage on McKelvey Rd. bumpsburb - do you know either of these people? Maybe we could get them on here also.
The swapmeet at Riverport sounds great! Along with the other get together too.
Columbia is ok with me. That'd make for a good weekend outing.
