A tent in one of the "stans" is not fun. I used to be on a ship doing circles for months at a time. Good Luck to you lngbed71, if ever in Valparaiso, stop by, the beer is on me.

Glad to see an Indian roll call :metal:

Living in Clarks Hill - 15 minutes south of Lafayette on US52, at the intersection of SR28.

Any thoughts to a get together?

South West of Indy.

Plainfield/Mooresville area...

I drive my truck for work. You can see me stomping around the area daily. Usually with a 16' utility trailer attached!!!

I live in Anderson but go to IU in Bloomington 9 months out of the year. I know there are more guys than this, one in particular (1FaastC10) and I've also seen someone from Martinsville post a few times.

My girl works for IU so I tromp thru town on occasion. I'm not hard to notice. I haven't seen another K20 yet!!!

I'm in Martinsville lots. My girl lives there. I'm the one with the ugly 71 K20. Say hi some time!!!

How often do you head down here? Where does your girl work? I don't recall ever seeing a '71 K20 down here. I know if I saw it I would remember it because I nearly go ballistic when I see ANY '67-72 truck running around campus. It's extremely rare.

I usually only have the truck when I'm working. But I work down that way every couple of weeks it seems. I always take a tour of downtown to look at the girls on the way home!!! My girlfriend works for the school of Geology. Nice part of campus, but I normally have a trailer behind me and some of the turns are unforgiving. I'm actually surprized at how many '67-72 trucks I've been seeing in and around Indy. Course I didn't look till I got my truck. Seen two Burb's. One for sale!!! But no other 4X4's...

Planning a visit to Rockville area soon!!!

I don't have any tires for sale, but that's a nice Jimmy! Did you do bodywork or is it a western truck?

70jimmy4x4
05-01-2005, 06:16 PM
NOt a western truck ! LOL Though it was fairly solid in all the right places. I replaced the floor pans, picked-up some doors out of Missouri (had to convert them to Jimmy doors), installed new rockers, filled-in some trim holes in the front fenders. Still need to do some finish work to the outside.
It came with a tach dash (which I see as the neatest part of the truck.) Rear swing-away spare tire rack is neat too !

I need to inventory everything piled in the back to see what I'm missing !!
I have tons of stuff to go back on it, just need time to do it.

Thanks for the interest.....

Steve

this summer, I'll be in Culver, and the chebby will be parked, but I'll come wherever y'all decide to meet, as long as it's in Indianapolis or north of there. I won't have the time to go much farther south.

I live on the southwest side of Indy(Plainfeld area). A board meet somewhere would be great, but right now I need to get my truck fixed. My 65 I wouldn't trust to go to far. Anyone know a good shop in the plainfield area besides the dealerships?

Thanks,

Scott

GO BOILERS!!! I who? Hey y'all, from a yankee in da south now for 2 years, always liked 67-72's but had to move south to get one, er two. Still have friends/kids up there, was just up to Auburn for Kruse Auction Labor Day, lot of nice trucks in car corral, coolest one was a 63-66 crew cab, no back doors, also had an extended bed, long as heck, I forget what they wanted but it looked like a truck limo. Trucks down here still have some rust, just not as bad as the rust belt. We'll think of you when we see snow storms up there, havn't seen a flake down here in 2 years hehe. ;)

A little late but I live in Greenwood Indiana. just got my '72 short fleet about a month ago. it runs but the driver door likes to fly open at inopportune times. like making a right turns. Just about gave a guy walking out of a church the last time I drove it. I think he thought I was a jumper:)

Hopefully by the time the white stuff is gone for the year, I'll be able to drive it without my wife searching for my life insurance policy.
