I have an 1981 GMC 1/2 ton 4 by 4 that im thinking about selling.
I bought this truck about 5 years ago for $4000. The truck was in really good condition when I bought it, but since this time I have been gradually fixing it up. So far I have about $11,000 into it and I have only put 20,000 KM on the truck. I would have to go look up and add up my reciepts to be sure.
I really like these old Chevy trucks. This is why I bought the truck in the first place place. I had planned on keeping this truck forever. But the problem is the price of gas. You see the truck isnt to bad when if your not hauling anything. But the only time I use the truck is when im hauling my horses.
Anyway now im really getting into horses so im going to be travelling a lot more miles than I used to. So im thinking about selling this truck to get a new diesel.
Would any of you be interested in my truck? The truck is very mechanically sound and has never been wrecked or ill used. Im guessing that it has three hundred and twenty thousand clicks on it. But it has a new factory GM 350 that is still under warranty, plus lots of new parts.
Im located in south western Alberta.

Hey Northern what kind of shape is the box in? Rust anywhere around the wheel tubs on the inside or anywhere else? Any significant dents? How is the cab floor? what kind of box floor does it have and what shape is that in? You say that you can deliver to Edmonton. How about to Saskatoon when you are coming out this summer?

northerngmc
05-04-2005, 01:04 PM
Box has many small dents, but very little rust. It does have one large dent on the left rear corner where the rear bumper has been jambed into the rear quarter. I will try and take a picture and post on my yahoo page.

Wood box floor that is 35 years old and rotten.

Sorry can't deliver to Saskatoon as my trailer will have my 59 GMC on it going to SuperRun.

Sorry i forgot to mention the cab floor. I haven't cleaned it out but so far it looks OK. I was really hoping to remove the seat and clean it out, but with hauling wood and spring yard work it hasn't happened.

Yes please get more pics of the floor and the box. Edmonton would be OK as I have a trailer and could meet there for pick up. Is that original paint?

northerngmc

The truck was originally green and at some point it has had a quick respray to blue, which is pelling in spots.

More pictures posted tonight. Use the link in my signature and click on 70 GMC.

Other than the cab floor I hope I have covered everyone's requests. The cab floor will be awhile until I can clean it out and take good shots. I plan on pulling out the seat for that.
