Hello all
Stillwater OK for me, Tracy Focht do you still have the 69 or 70 maroon and white two tone half ton? I might be of some service to some of you guys. I work for a GM dealer in the pars dept. here is town. You can still find quite a bit of the original stuff sometimes.

Any body in this area have a good cab roof or a junk cab they want to get rid of? I don't need a title. I will trade a front disc brake set up from a 78 1/2 ton for it. These will bost right up in place of the drum setup on 67-71. PM me please!

Welcome to Oklahoma. My dad was in the Air Force and we were stationed at Karamursel Turkey back in 69-70. After retirement he eventually ended up at Tinker working for Civil Service. Retired again, now he gets two Fed retirement checks.

When will you be leaving Turkey? May think of something you could bring back for me.

06-29-2005, 10:41 AM
Hey Rick,

Getting paroled from Turkey on the 3rd of August. Going to stop in Arkansas for a couple of weeks and will be getting into Tinker around mid August. Got about 3 more years and I can retire. Looking to get hired on at Tinker once I retire from the AF.

About the only thing they sell around here lately is machine made carpets, suits and leather jackets. The gold used to be cheap here, but with draw down here at Incirlik, the Turks have jacked the price way up. Not many good bargains anymore.

You wouldn't happen to know some good places to live around Tinker would you? Got relatives down in Purcell, but I hear the I-35 is pretty nasty for commuting? Figure I will stay nearer Tinker for the first 6 months. Jay

My parents were living in the Moore area when dad retired from Tinker civil service. I will ask them for ideas. Something that I liked, but don't have any more are puzzle rings - would like to have another one. I also had a guy in Yalova make me leather wrist watch bands, the wider ones that were popular back then. But I haven't wore a watch in about 10 years.

Mom says she likes south OKC. Dad said Del City or Midwest City is close.

WRMZ71

The I-35 commute is starting to get pretty nasty. Tinker is on the SE side of the town so if you're looking to get something around there then that would be your best bet. Like they said Del City and MidWest City are the closest, although OKC does wrap into there but they still call them DEL and MID city if you kinda understand that. If you're going to buy me a house and would like the name of a couple good realtors let me know as I could give you either the guy I bought my house through or one of my Marine Reservists is a realtor for Century 21 and does a pretty $hit hot job from the sounds of things. That and if you're anticipating buying a house with a basement might as well keep on dreaming as they don't exist in this area. i myself live about a mile from the west side of Tinker and I bought a 1700 SQ ft 3 Bdrm 2 bath pretty nice house for 84,500. If you would like theither one of those realtors names or numbers just let me know and i'll hook you up man. That and if you got any other questions about the Tinker area feel free to PM me. Good luck

Hey Jay, I've worked at Tinker for 6 years now. How far do you want to commute? The Choctaw/Harrah area, east of Tinker, is a nice area. Kind of a country/city mix. Lots of land but your still close to everything. Betwen a 10-20 min. commute depending on how far you move east. Most people use I-40 East to get home but it's not overly crowded.

Couple of nice apartments in Midwest City for your first 6 months are Meadowood and Willow Creek. There are some other nice ones too. Goodluck with your move.

Here is another newbie. Im from MOORE and I have just got into trucks. I bought a cheap 82 LWB, about a year ago, that I was going to convert to a SWB but that looks like alot of work. I think I am going to sell it and get a project SWB to start over with.
