I have a 68 C-10 and it has an external voltage regulator and I'm wondering if I should install a new condesor when I put the new regulator on. The guys at the local parts house said that all the condesors do is reduce static in the radio. It seems to me they would serve a better purpose but I'm not sure. I just don't want to have any electrical problems so I though I'd ask you fine people for assistance! As always, thanks in advance!

yeah, they were right. Its simply there to damp radio noise... Jus plug the old one back in, you'll be fine
I recommed converting it to internal regulation though. Its not difficult, and they tend to go out less (I have a pretty powerful stereo, and it tore through replacement regulators like nothing).
Theres a walkthrough on how to do it on the FAQ board.
Good luck!

Thanks for the help. It's all going back together tomorrow and I'll check to make sure I have the correct voltage.
Thanks Again!!
