ive been looking for a complete wiring diagram for my 71 4x4, no a/c... especially with cab lights, cargo and dome lights included in it.

mitchell and alldata only go back to 74, even though some stuff may be similar, i wanted to see a 71, and maybe a 69 diagram

im doing a cab swap, and have a cab and complete harness from a 69.... and my 71 has a hacked up a/c harness, and i just want to redo everything.

i could also use one for my nova (72)... is there a good online resource for these, or should i buy a $50 one from ebay.

I cannot find a 1971 specific diagram. I HAVE a 1972 diagram, but I can't scan it or send it. In it, the cab ("clearance") lights are listed as circuit no 9, the wire for that is brown, it is fused from the "tail light" fuse, and the feed goes up the driver side windshield pillar.
The Dome light is powered from socket no 20 on the back of your headlight switch. An 18 ga white wire goes under the drivers door plate, and up the rear pillar of the cab, again, on the driver side. I hope this helps

Don't know if it's detailed enough for you, but if you go to www.AutoZone.com you can put in your vehicle year, etc, and then go to "Repair Info". One of the choices under there is wiring diagrams. They are on the simple side, but might help.

'71 model year electrics schematics are in the last part of the '71 Chevy Truck Chassis Service Manual. A good book and well worth the $30 the vendors charge for them.
