When I hit the brakes on my truck the right side turns off, including the tail light. (when the tail light/headlight is on).
I checked the bulb and the filaments are all connected.
Do I have the bulb connection in upside down?
Help!

I think you may have a bad ground for that bulb. To test, run a jumper wire from the bulb socket to a known good ground.

If it turns out to be the ground go get a battery cable with the closed ends about a foot long and grind down spots on the frame and the rear box housing by the taillight and use it as a ground strap. Works great as its sealed and is heavy duty and should cost under $2.00 (mine was $1.59). Since I did that I havent had a problem with my rear lights since.

Probaby, but it was a price thing. Only cost me $1.59 for the cable while a manufactured ground strap is close to $5.00. I just couldnt see paying that much for 15 inches of thin braided wire.

Valid reason;while on the subject,on my '66 C-60,I recently re-installed the original style turn signal switch (it had a universal fit type when I got it);everything works fine now, except the right stoplight won't work. Where could the problem be-seems to me if one stoplight doesn't work, that turn signal wouldn't work either.
