I recently received a 1991 GMC Sonoma, It has power windows and locks but the drivers side window won't work, the passenger window switch on both sides works. Should I replace the whole motor or what? I am also wondering if this is contributing to the problem I am having with my radio. This problem was occuring before, but I installed a JVC head unit in my dash but when ever I open any door including the dash storage door it cuts off and most of the time resets I also found that this same thing happens when attempting to use the horn. Please help.

On 5he window motor you need to see if you are getting power to the motor thru the switch before you change the motor. As for your stereo it sounds like you have the power wired wrong.

For the power window problem,I'd try another window switch;I used to change out 3 or 4 a week for customers when I was still wrenching professionally.

Hi Stueber68 here!
I think you have your 12V batt wire for your stereo hooked up to one of the orange wires to you courtesy circuit. Some of your aftermarket stereos draw to much amperage for the gauge of wire you tie it into. Try checking if you have a power source available direct from the fuse box (i.e. some accesory hookup your truck doesn't use). This will probably solve your issuses. Also be careful not to hook it up to the brake light power supply, you may cause an electrical fire in the harness to your brake light switch on you pedal. If you have any questions I check my private message folder everyday. Good Luck!

I can't remember, are the power window switches for the driver door individual? If they are just swap the passenger and driver window switch and see if it moves. Otherwise use a test light at the motor connections to solve your problem. Good Luck
