My computer only has 128MB of ram and needs more. It has SDRAM DDR 184 pin according a few web sites. They also say my machine has an extra bank wide open for I think 256MB more. Do I just look for a 184 pin module that has all the other specs?. I'm pretty sure it should work. There are alot of computer vendors on ebay that have 256 MB ram for $10-$15. Thanks

Here is the folks I deal with.

Just give them your machine/mobo model/brand and they can tell you what is available and the different prices. They also guarentee free replacement if it goes bad during the life of the computer. I have not priced memory in a while, so I am not sure if they are the cheapest or not. One thing about memory, DON'T go cheap. A memory problem can be a real nightmare to troubleshoot and will aggrevate the heck out of you.

I would buy at least a 256M stick. If you can swing it, buy 2 and replace the 128 with another 256. Adding RAM is a very cheap way to make your system perform and pep up. I normally recommend 512 for memory at a minimum, especially if you run Windows XP.

Back on subject, that site will let you know all you need for your system and they are very good folks to deal with.

They have a memory selector at the site and will help you to find the exact memory you need for your pre-built or custom system.

I ordered from them a lot in the past, best prices, free fedex 2nd day air shipping.
