The passenger door on my 86 C10 requires adjustment. I've read the writeup from martinsr a couple of times but I still have some questions. I'm pretty ignorant in this department. I'll try and describe the problem and what I think needs to be done: When looking at the door from the side, the front bottom edge is to far forward and the front top edge is to far back. It appears that the door needs to be rotated somewhat clockwise. I believe the only way to do this is to move the hinges as the attach to the door pillar. I think I would want to do this with the door attached so that as I make changes I can check for alignment. It appears that the only way to reach the bolts that attach the hinge to the pillar is either with the fender off or moved forward. Assuming I am on the right track (please let me know if I am not) I think it would be easiest for me at least if I could just move the fender far enough forward to reach these hinge bolts. I've looked over my shop manual and it looks like there are 3 main bolts on the rear side of the fender. It also appears that the cowl needs to be removed to reach one of the bolts (correct?). The other 2 seem to be accessible without removing anything else. Would loosening these 3 bolts allow me to move the fender forward enought to reach the hinge/pillar bolts or do I need to remove the whole fender?
