I switched over to FireFox and so far like a lot about it, but have been having a few issues.
The current issue is I am not seeing streaming movies.
If I open the Internet Explorer I see them, but not with FireFox.
In FireFox I went to Tools, Options, Downloads, Plug-ins, and Windows "WMV" is not an option.
How do I add this plug-in, or get these movies?

Thanks,

Jeff,

Thanks for the reply.
Image below shows my plug-in list.
I downloaded the newest media player (again :)) and installed it.
Still no changes. For some reason Firefox is not showing it as a plug-in.
Any ideas?

Thanks, Eddie

The Mozilla Development site has a registry entry that supposedly fixes this issue. It's (I guess) a problem of Microsoft not including something in WMP version 10.

Try running this registry entry addition (Save to your hard drive, close all browser windows, double-click the file to run it, wait for the "successfully added" message):
http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/resources/wmp9.reg

Try opening something afterwards. Report back.

Sorry, I don't know much about Firefox. I use IE. It has everything I need and works great for me.

I tried that too and it didnt change anything.

I found THIS (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/plugin.aspx) while searching:
and it fixed the problem :)

If the link does not work, run a search for:
WMPPLUGIN.EXE

I believe this plug-in is actually for Netscape, but also works with FireFox.

For anyone looking at this in the future.
The plug-in does add the appropriate plug-ins to the list.

I always liked IE over other browsers until I tried Firefox to fix the
image loading problem I am having. Firefox did not fix the problem,
but while giving it a try I ended up liking it. Here are a few options
I use a lot that I like more than IE.

Tabs, you can open new pages in tabs instead of new windows.
Good if you look at multiple pages at one time.
You can still open links in new pages if you prefer.

Privacy window. Here you can check your password management,
and clear history, cookies and cache (temp. internet files).

There is also a download manager. When you are downloading multiple
files at one time, it puts them all in one window so you can monitor,
open and remove as you desire.

I like FF, but I'm not getting the full advantage because of my stupid dial up. ONe more week to DSL, then I can keep 5 tabs going at once.:D

I also like the quick search engine window in the upper right corner.
No stupid Google toolbar with stuff you dont want or gets in the way.
You almost dont even notice the toolbar in the corner.
There little things, that make things better, its the details :)

I actually enjoy the google toolbar. I use it a lot.

The only part of FF that I would want is the tabs, but that's something that's supposed to be standard in IE7 when it comes out (with Longhorn). But it's questionable whether Microsoft is going to require purchase of IE7, so ... we'll see. Meanwhile, call me stubborn, but ... I'll use the browser MS hardwired in.

PS - that problem with the JPEGs...I hear about this more than you know, I really wish I knew the source of the problem...

I will not call you stubborn, I am the same way.
If it wasnt for the image loading problem, I would have
probably never tried FireFox.
It is a strange image problem. 90% of the pages are no problem,
but every once in awhile I come across one and no images load.

Most browser are going with tab options now.
Netscape also has it. I was wondering when IE would do it.

Edit:
One more thing is the Bookmarks (Favorites) is easy to sort and manage.
The font is slightly smaller so you can fit more without scrolling.
Sorting was always an issue for me with IE.

How do you open the tabs? When I bypass the popup stopper, it puts the tab at the top, but if I click on it, nothing happens.

Do you only have the opening tabs problem with pop-ups?

dont trust MS..
get firefox! its safer, easier, alot faster and less prone to viruses

for tabs you just right click the link and hit Open Link in new tab... also there are extensions so that you can add weather, security, different tab styles and all kinds of other stuff...

heres the weather thing:
