After looking around for the "Search" function & not seeing it (maybe my fault, working 16 hour days lately?), I HAD to ask this: After changing the wiper motor about 6 years ago after the original quit & the wiper switch last year (crappy unit from LMC), my wipers have NEVER worked properly at all from the first time I got the truck, maybe 8-9 years ago. They just slowly draaaag up & down, most times stopping halfway up; after flipping the switch back & forth numerous times, they MIGHT start again, most-times not. I've resorted to Rain-X, but I'd like the dadgummed things to work RIGHT for a change!
Just short of replacing the componants again & rewiring the beast, what's up?
Thanks, Bud

I don't know what year you are dealing with but if it is a 67-72 and the motor just drags along you can pick up another wiper switch, they have replacments at AutoZone of all places. I had the same problem with two different 68's I have. One the motor was loose and would not ground properly. The second would not ground because the driver side wiper actuator is actually what makes the wipers park at the bottom of your windshield. If the actuator was not secure or the linkage was 180 degrees backwards it will park in the middle of your windshield. When you look at it, you'll think I am crazy and that it can't be 180, that it wouldn't fit that way. Trust me. I thought I was a lunatic when I tried it. Look into these items before you just replace the motor again.

Alrighty, I'll check that...BTW, it's a '69 GMC 1500. I can't remember if the motor is a two-wire or a three-wire variety. It seems, if my memory serves me, that it DID work OK for a while after I replaced the motor, but got progressively slower over the years. I'll check the ground & other connections. I know the linkage is correct- it was parked when I R&R'ed the motor before. When they work- if at all- they DO park themselves when turned off, at the bottom of the arc, but they just act like the motor is trying to work on less than 12 VDC.
Also, after checking several parts stores, they all said I'd have to go aftermarket or find someone with NOS...AutoZone was one of them (last year, when I was searching for the switch). Otherwise, I could get the motor locally.
Thanks for the tips! Bud

The part number for the switch from Auto Zone is SW614. Maybe that will be of some help.

also lubricating the linkage ,especially the wiper towers(spraying with wd40 or rustbuster stuff) can make a huge differance in wiper action
