tonight I turned on my headlights and heard the fuse pop. ok i thought, so i put a new one in and as soon as I turned it on it popped again. What could be causing this? electrical is all greek to me so I have no idea. It's the #9 fuse on the panel, by the way it a 97 2 wheel drive. Any info would be greatly appreciated I need to get it fixed and I really dont want to pay to do it, Thank you Cody

Without the diagram in front of me I would say check the harness going from the switch to the headlights for shorts and grounds, usually when a fuse blows it isnt the main problem, only a symptom, would pay special attention to anywhere the wires go through the firewall or any bulkheads, as these locations are most likely to wear their way through the insulation, grounding the circuit out and popping the fuse.

Also notice if there's anything else that runs on that fuse. If so,have a look at that too.
I had a battery shift in the battery box once and chafe a hole in one of my headlight wires. That was where I discovered the previous owner had removed the wire from the fusebox and wired it back in directly to the hot side of the fuse. The shorted wire smoked the whole front wiring harness before I could get the battery unhooked. God,I hate wiring;seems like every vehicle I get needs to be re-wired though. Why do I do this to myself?

You really love the feeling of accomplishment when you figure it out and fix it, you only THINK you hate wiring.
