In all the posts, well most that I have read, nothing on imron.
Would this be a good paint type to use on my frame?
What dangers to spraying it, etc?
Thanks,
Steve

Imron is an excellent and durable paint. It is used alot in the aircraft painting business. It is one of only a couple of pure polyurethane paints on the market. It is not an acrylic like what is used to paint cars. I say go for it!

Polyurethane enamal spay it in a very vented area, wear a mask and protection. I have sprayed alot of it when I was younger. Its for fleets, tractors, big rigs, things that sit out in the sun. Made to have a wet look. I would say if you have it use it. If not use steel coat epoxy. Matt

Thats what made me start thinking about it. All the semi's around here use it. I have also been trying to find out about what the army uses since i am about 8 miles away from Fort Bragg.
I like the idea of a tough as nails paint. I found a guy today that has a small power and ceramic coating business that will do frame, blaste dand coated for around 400.
But I like that wet look!

Your local Dupont automotive paint store should carry it or be able to get it for you. It is a Dupont product.

Imron is a fine paint--very expensive but durable.I used it years ago with great results.I cannot stress enough that you must use a fresh air supplied mask.Even spraying outside I used a supplied mask. Most of the painters I know that did use it quit due to the health hazards related to it-----
