A buddy needs help. '99 Silverado needs new converters. Need info on price and brands. Man these things are high.

get some O2 simulators from summit for 80 bucks , cut off the cats and never look back!

Mine went bad last month on my 03, damn thing cost almost $600. Glad I got the extended warrenty.

I think that emmisions equipment is covered for 5 years or 100k miles.

In this case neither apply. Just shopping around. Aftermarket? Wholesaler? Heard of high flow cats? Truck has flowmaster out of one large muffler, factory from there to the manifold.

That sounds like it could be true, I was wondering why they didn't charge me my deductible.

As far as the original question I cannot provide any help unfortunately, the 77 conveniently didn't have cats when I bought it, and I sure wasn't about to put any on.

GM's warranty on cats and PCM's is 8yrs or 80,000miles.

You may want to look at your warrinty,Emission items are covered up to 100,000 miles or 10 years...Its worth checking on it....Or you couls just sell it and buy you a nice 67-72 :lol:
