I was checking out Charlie Cobble's website and he has announced this past week the location for the Chevy/GMC truck Nats. will be moved. It will be moving from Pigeon Forge to Maggie Valley.

That kinda sucks in a way for me. I have always wanted to go to that show but timing and distance was a factor in not being able to go. Now it seems like its going to be further away yet.

maggy valley isnt that much farther away !!! and plus the money saved in room rates you can put in gas to get there .

sumbody needs to call around and see if we can get room rates at a discount for everybody here on the board ,you know the group rate thingie

i will be there its about the same from here to PF as it is to Maggy valley :) well i think maggy valley may be closer for me  i will have to check that out

I agree, it was already 6.5 hours for me, the reason I didn't bring "GQ"
now it will be even further, unless I can find a trailer to rent for free I
will be without a ride next year also, if I can even make the trip. :(

its just a few extra miles  what you save in room rates and food cost will pay for the extra gas

plus its a lot nicer there than it is in PF in a way(its alot more layed back)and about the samethings to do , its definetlly<sp? cheeper there than PF

I'm 15 min. away from PF. Maggie Valley is only an hour drive for me. If your already on I-40 East, it's not that much further. tnk5 is right about the room rates and food. About everything in Haywood Co., N.C. is cheaper than Sevier Co., TN.

Your room and food will be about 30% cheaper. There will probably be more room too.

 Well Brian, "GQ" isn't gonna be there unless I find a car trailer, free
to borrow and use, that's big enough to get her on, I was gonna bring
her even if she wasn't done, but I'm not driving her that far unfinished.

I went to Maggie Valley this summer on my vacation to the Smokies and that whole area.I steered clear of Pigeon Forge.I`ve been to the truck shows, but other than that it sucks IMHO.It will be awesome to have a show in Maggie Valley.I hope it doesn`t drive the prices up.The Wheels of Time museum is a site to see.Especially if you`re into old American motorcycles.

I'm probably going to bring the newbie, she is a far far cry from a

her all over town, I'm still working on trying 2 borrow a car trailer :(

Just don't show up with the F*&d pulling either blazer. I'd prefer to see GQ mostly because I'm a little sore that the 2wd was in my back yard and I didn't even know. :)

there is no way I would trust either one of them on a 7 hour road trip

Krue, just don't tell her she'll be happy once she gets there. My wife and I have gone on a vacation for our anniversary(April 27) every year we have been married. This year she told me she'd rather do something later on in the year and go to the show as our trip. I was kind of worried when I saw the dates if I was going to be able to go. SWEET!!!!!!!!

When everyone comes from tenn. into N.C. on 40 make sure you are not next to a big rig through the I40 gorge area....There are too many accidents in that area....you have to be very carefull... I hate that road...

I am going this year for sure....

And Robb you are less than 2 1/2 hours from there. right down I26

Does some one have an exact address for a map to get there?

If yall find out about a group rate I may be interested in putting my name in the hat for the trip up there.

Thanks I'd appreciate that and I'm sure the other guys would too. All I really care about is the room, and my wife usually is the same. But I do know that the appearance of the outside matters to her. I've only been married 4 years, but at 16 years you know the sigh when you pull in a place and you can hear her cussing you in her head.

I called the Comfort Inn and they said that they are right next door to the festival grounds. I also double checked the address with Mapquest, and it lists it at less than a tenth of a mile. So needless to say I have already made a reservation. My wife is graduating from college on that Friday so we won't be up there til very late Friday evening.

Not sure about that. I can check. Cherokee is a reservation with different rules. When traveling that way I always buy prior and plan not to run out. Camped up the road from there in Nantahala and it was a 45 minute ride to the beer store.
