:drama: [B]The paint supply store here is going to discontinue dupont's centari line of paint. They will be carrying Nason enamel instead. From what I see it looks like Nason enamel is a off brand dupont paint because it says it's made by Dupont. Will this just be a generic centari?

What would be something similar or better than Dupont Centari in say the PPG line or another line of paint?
Some of my older trucks I like to keep simple basic single stage enamel on. When I first started looking into paint dupont Imaron was being discontinued now this is. Oh, I know they have been carrying Nason base/clear and limitied colors in Nason enamel for some time.

I had this same questiou a couple mounths ago,
I used ppg delstar EA, and centari EA, for years and wanted somthing better.
I switched to dupont Chroma One single stage urathane . This is supposed to be the cadilac of single stages. My 72 swb turned out perfect. Black. Rember all single stage metalics are not recomeneded to be cut and buffed. Solids OK.
IMO You will not notice the diference bitween nason or dupont.
The SSU is about 30% more expensive than EA. .. And always use the catalist even though you can do without!!!
PS,
AE= acrylic enamel...
SSU= Single stage urethane...
Nason= Good
Dupont= Better

Were you able to buff out the single stage black then? I have a friend that's a bodyman, really good. When he did his black truck I was suprised he didnt use base clear. That may have been the pain that he had used then. I know it was dupont and wasnt clear. How much paint did you use on your SWB? Also, how much was it a gallon?

Single Stage black, when done properly, looks deeper than bc/cc black. i didnt believe it till i started using it. its rare that i'm doing allovers anymore, but when someone wants black or white i usually use Single stage. and yeah, Chromaone/chroma Premier is the best thing you'll ever spray. go with the nason single stage and you'll love it compared to that junk centari.

"Chromaone/chroma Premier is the best thing you'll ever spray."

If I remember correctly chroma-premier Is made for force drying not garage jobs..
I used 1.5 gallons of chroma-one paint and mixed 3:1:1. That just made it painting everything.

I like PPG ...Concept single stage ... It sprays and looks like the old PPG Starthane which was suppose to be a mild copy of Imron .
