I am redoing my firewall, Was coated in some sort of undercoating, so stripped it to bare metal. Any suggestions for prepping before paint? What kind of primer to fill in sand marks? Us ebase clear or acrylic enamel?
Also, I took the heater core housing off to properly sand behind it. IS or was there a gasket that seals inbetween the firewall and the heater box?
I am also stripping by wirewheel the control arms, springs frame etc etc. Should I tremclad it first to enure preventitive rust before using a spray gun with good paint. Lots of rust pits on the suspension and steering parts. Therefore I think good thick tremclad witha brush will fill in the bumps.
Block is going to be painted black. Its a beaach with the motor still in, but can't pull it,No room,small garage. I will be masking for a month!
Any suggestions helpfull.
