:new:Hey Folks, I need some help getting my cruise working, it's dead! I just bought this 4 x 4 and don't know anything about cruise control. The owners manual indicates it is fused with the instrument lights and they all work fine. Where do I go from here? TimB

Since you have a book, I would start with the switch and see if there is power to and from it. The trun/multipurpose stalks do then to go out. If your truck is later than a 96, beware of the airbag. I never liked working around them with the air bag,so I had my stalk replaced by a grage I know.

The pink wire to the unit under the hood is the hot wire. Make sure you have power to it. Then check to see if the brake-off switch on the brake pedal is working. There are two switches and sometimes the brake-off switch will be out of adjustment and this will not let the CC work. You can check it, as you drive, out by using your toe to lift up the brake pedal while you press the CC button.
Finally if nothing else works, check the connector that the CC plugs into beside the steering column. As a last resort, replace the stalk on the steering column. That is the order in which I checked mine out. It happened to be the button on the stalk. I always make it a policy to check out the cheap things first.
Good luck!
