My truck is a 1970 with 4-wheel drum brakes, non power. What is needed to convert to power? Booster, rod, brackets, MC. What else? Do I need to swap prop valves? Pedal? Is a drum booster different than a disc booster? And what do I need to look for to get the smaller diameter booster I've seen on some pickups?

I also found a 89 chevy van. Can anything be used from this to convert to disc?

$150.00 Used the same proportion valve and worked great. Now I'm converting to disks mainly for the look and will be changing the master and proportioning valve.
Night and day from manual to power even if you keep the drums all the way around

no change in splitter block needed unless you go to disc brakes in front then you would need a proportioning valve

It will stay drum for now. Disc would be nice in the future though.

thanks Ivscott-----sdkid, here is another pic. Remember if using stock pedal arm hole. from firewall mount to center of the booster rod hole is 8.5" Rod will allow for lengthening using split washers if needed. Hole may need enlarged on rod.

i have the complete power brake setup off my suburban peddle and all disk front drum rear. Im doin an underdash setup on mine. All my stuff has been replaced except the proportioning valve but the brakes worked perfect. PM me for more info.....
