i honked my horn the other day while crusing and i couldnt even hear it over the motor. then when i came to a stop i tried it again and it sounded horrible. is there any way to fix or clean them so i can get a good crisp sound out of it again?

In addition to the above (if needed)most GM horns have a small screw near the base. This screw can be turned to adjust for tone quality, sometimes a small twist will cure a "weak" horn.

Jump a wire from the battery positive to the horn wire terminal and see how it sounds. You may have a loose wire on the horn relay or the relay may not be making good contact inside.
