Hi guys,
I just bought a 57 short bed and am wanting to lower it and was wondering what you guys used on these years of trucks. I've played with the 67-72s for quite a while, but never anything this old. If any one has pics of theirs, I'd love to see them. after I get it running I'm going to try and figure out which direction to take with it. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nik

Hi Nik, welcome to the board!! Here's my two cents worth on lowering your truck. The back is very simple, using a flip kit, you change were your rear diff. sets from under the spring to on top of the springs. This will give you 6 inches and if you want to go lower you can use lowing blocks. On the front I would recommend using a Mustang II up front or a Camaro or Nova clip. The reason is, just by installing one or the other your going to end up with a much better riding truck and by installing the clip it lowers your truck up to 5 in. up front before you need to use dropped spindles our springs. The other reason for the clips is in most cases you can easily have disc brakes and power steering and last parts are cheep and easy to come by. Here's a pic of the flip kit in use.
