Hi: I am looking to buy a 1970 Chevy 4X4 truck that has a C10 emblem on the truck. Is this correct or should it be a K10? What rules apply here?
Thanks, Wally

Should be k if it's 4wd. The only exceptions are the blazers, they are k-5's whether they are 2wd or 4wd. The truck could be a mutt, pieced together. It's not uncommon, my truck has pieces off of several trucks.
BTW welcome to the board from South Mississippi.

Check the glove box VIN # against the title and see if they match. The glove box door could have been changed but the title will have either a "C" for 2wd or "K" for 4wd in the VIN#. The fender call-out will not have a "K" unless it is a Blazer which will have the "K5" emblem for 2wd or 4wd just as krue says. 69 & 70 pickup, suburban both would have the "four-wheel drive" emblem up front under the fender side marker.

Welcome to the best board on the 'net. :hiya:

Thanks for the information. The VIN shows the truck as a K truck which would be correct for a four wheel drive and the fender shows a C10 designation. If I understand your comments, this would be correct. Right?
This is a great web site. I look forward to being an active member once I buy my truck.

Yup! My K20 is 4WD, but the fender emblem said Custom/20 -- or did, before I de-badged it. Oh, :welcome2: from NorCal!!
