hi i put a new starter in my truck the other day ... i drove down my road and the wires burned on the headers.... so i tied another power wire in to the one that burnt...and it worked and i drove home ...... the starter has 3 small wires comming off the main starter bolt and the battery cable .... and 1 wire comming from that side bolt thing...that wire goes to the ignition... the 3 small wires that come from the main bolt 1 go to the alt,and the other 2 go back by the ignition i have now put all new wires on... and n0w the blinkers , voltage , stereo, do not work and when u go to start the truck now it turns over fires, and thats all it will do, it will fire once and then it seems like it cuts the ignition out ..... all fuses seem to be good.. i have no idea whats wrong maybe some how i wired wrong... idk but please some one help me i have no idea whats wrong!!!!!

and what year truck would that be???

Check your connection again behind the switch? maybe you have a bad ignition switch?

its an 85 gmc 1500,yea idk what it is because i could drive it back home with the power wires spliced together then when i put new wires in, now its all messed up
