Can somebody tell me the steps to do this on a 69' longbed?. I know I can handle this without paying a professional but have never done it before. Please help:confused:

If all you are changeing is the springs, you unbolt the old and bolt the new back in. If you are changeing the shock mounts and the track bar it gets a little more complicated. It is still a project you should be able to handle with a little time and basic tools.

see ten, I'm just swapping springs only. Am I supposed to put the jack under the pumpkin to take pressure off the springs?. Can they fly out at any point during install?. Sorry for the dumb questions but I have never done suspension work and need to go one step at a time. I've searched the board for past posts and couldn't find any directions.

Rear coil spring replacement is very safe. It isn't any where near dangerous as the fronts.
He pretty much explained it. I've had mine in and out a few times now :D

You'll need jackstands under the frame and the jack uner the rearend.

Just unbolt the spings top and bottom and lower the jack to let the rear end down. Now, replace the springs and jack the rear up into place again.

Use plenty of penetrant on the bolts and nuts.

I think I understand now:.

1. While it's jacked up under the pumpkin with the springs compressed I unbolt them then lower to relieve tension which allows them to fall out.
2. Then sit the new springs in there and jack up to compress the new springs.
3.While the new springs are compressed I put the bolts back in.
Is this correct???

You don't need to put any pressure on the springs to bolt them. There is no need to compress them, bolt it on top first the raise the trailing arms and rear until the spring touches and bolt the bottom.
