I was trying to find out what would I need to put big brakes or just disc brakes front and rear of a 68 Burban. Do I have to use stuff off the 71-72 or is there a kit I can get. If anyone has done the swap and have pics would love to see. Oh it is a C10 if that makes any diff.

you could swap the whole front cross member. It is easier or change the ball joint, tie rod ends and center steering link to the 71-72 stuff.the ball joints on the 67-70 trucks are smaller. You need to replace the master cylinder as well with a 71-up one.The disc brake frontend require more fluild then the drum fronts

If you swap to rear discs as well, you need a master cylinder for a four wheel disc brake set up(corrvette make good donors for this)

You could put spindles and brakes from a C/30 on it.Everything on a 1t is bigger. If you want to put discs on it,the71/72s are the easiest.Do you plan to lower it?you could just get drop spindles or a complete conversion kit.

If you buy used 71/72 parts, you won`t be using the steering knucles/spindles if you are going with drop spindles.Which is the best first stage for a drop.If you want to be putting new brake parts:rotors/calipers/pads/hoses,and new bearings`n`seals, then the backing plates and a few little pieces are all you`ll use.The best way to go would be a disc brake conversion kit.I think the upper brake parts (master cyl/prop.valve) are included in the kit.
