Any thoughts on what mouse to buy?The one I have is a HP optical mouse.The scroll wheel is not scrolling any more.When i spin it,it free wheels.Feels like it is not connected.I took it apart,but no difference.

For non-gaming purpose - like, for example, if you use the internet and email more than anything, I suggest this mouse:

This is my reasoning: The little dark silver part that you see on the left-hand side is on both sides and it's a button - it sits right underneath where your thumb rests. Pressing this special xtra button on either side goes "back" or "forward" in your browser. It's a fast way to page flip. I use one at work and man, when I come home, I get so frustrated not having it. It also works for page flipping in some document editing/reading programs like Acrobat and Word I think. It goes forward and backward too when you're flipping through folders on your computer.

If you're into gaming, I can give other suggestions. This is a really inexpensive mouse for what you get - just be careful, I think there are a few different kinds of the Intellimouse or whatever.

Honestly - stop by your local Best Buy or CompUSA if you have them. They normally have setups there so you can test all the mice, but ... overall, this is an incredible product.

I recently purchased the Logitech MX 1000 cordless laser mouse (also from newegg.com.) I like it a lot for general computer and CAD use.

i got a dell optical scroll mouse wired had it for about 3 years no problems yet although i use it on an hp puter lol
