View Full Version : whats in a 1988 suburan gary67 02-09-2006, 08:58 PM i was going to buy a running i think it 86 or 88 what motor was standard is it 5 or 6lug was going to use the parts for a1970 pickup was wondering if the seat would fit? WLPTMP 02-10-2006, 06:22 AM 2wd is 5 lug 1/2ton 4wd 6lug 1/2ton they had a couple of different 350's in them depending on the year and the seat is probaly to wide Already Gone 02-11-2006, 12:37 PM Hi Gary: Most 1/2 ton Burbs of that era came with the tried & true 350 (or 5.7) engine. My 87 has the throttle bottle injection or TBI as its called , and I believe that was the first year for it. So if this Burb is an 86 it'll have a carburator and if it is an 88 it will have the TBI engine..
