ok guys, today I installed a camaro tach in my 72 w/HEI. It works great, but i am concerned about where i pulled my 12V source. I experimented with several connections at the fuse box and some worked, some didnt. i ended up going with the cigarette lighter spade connection. my concern is that this is not a 12V switched spade. any problems with leaving it there? tach burning up? battery drain? after 6 hours, i thought about it and went out and started the truck. no problems, and it didnt seem to need to charge the batt... i killed the engine and switched to the ON position. The gauge moved the tiniest bit to the "-" side, but that might be anything... any suggestions? should i pull it from somewhere else? if so, where? this is not a daily driver, so there is some time between startups...

thanks

As long as the power switches off and on with the ign sw you are ok. You should find a switched ign to hook upto on the fuse panel.
