Hey guys
I use PowerDVD version 4.0 to play my DVDs and I use the latest Winamp version for all my audio files. Whenever I open the PowerDVD, it automatically drops the volume output of my Winamp, and if I mute the PowerDVD volume, I cant hear anything from Winamp. If I have my PowerDVD open with its volume all the way up, then Winamp can go as loud as it should. I run all my audio through my stereo, and b/c PowerDVD is making me turn up the volume higher to hear it, I can hear some static. There must be some setting somewhere that is lettting PowerDVD put out 100% sound output and Winamp is only able to put out a fraction of that volume?...

Any clues?

I'm guessing one is "muting" the other. Here's the deal: You have two main "volume" controls for most sounds. One is the "WAV" volume and the other is the "MAIN" volume. Main volume controls everything. WAV volume only controls certain (WAV) sounds. It's possible that PowerDVD is just using the Main volume, cranking it up while Winamp is just using the WAV volume.

You should see these controls if you double-click on the grey speaker symbol down by your clock in the taskbar or possibly by clicking on "Sounds and audio settings" icon in the Control Panel.
