View Full Version : Maggie Valley Truck'n Nats LUV2XCLR8 02-18-2006, 03:50 AM Just Curious, who is staying where ? LUV2XCLR8 02-18-2006, 03:59 AM Show link -> http://www.autoshows.cc/shows.php?show=chevy 5150 02-18-2006, 12:35 PM I'm booked at the Comfort Inn, looks like I'm not alone. LUV2XCLR8 02-19-2006, 07:30 PM Come on, more than this is going, so what if there is 3 other threads on this subject, you need to answer mine, Pretty, Pretty PLEASE :hm: 68Stepbed 02-19-2006, 11:43 PM I vote private cabin cause I only live an hour away from MV and the drive is actually not too bad. I can drive cheaper than stay. I may only go Saturday anyway. Southedisto 02-20-2006, 09:14 AM Is it possible to see everything in one day? LUV2XCLR8 02-20-2006, 04:06 PM Is it possible to see everything in one day? YES, it is not that big of a show, but the comradery is priceless with all of the board members who come just to hang out there  LUV2XCLR8 02-20-2006, 10:07 PM When I say not big, 100 trucks or so, see the link in the 2nd post :metal: 71SWBChevy 02-21-2006, 12:53 AM Well I am glad you put the camping option up there for me LUV I will be there just how and with whom I get there is another story! 5150 02-21-2006, 03:32 PM I think some of the guys here ought to get together and share a room or something. I mean I'm going with my wife so nobody's sharing my room, but as long as people can get along non-smoker, drinker vs. non drinker. 71SWBChevy 02-22-2006, 07:13 PM I would be up for sharing a room with someone else if I could get a decent price, I don't care if they smoke or drink but I don't smoke and won't drink at the show. LUV2XCLR8 02-22-2006, 08:14 PM A smoking room at the hotel across the street is $54.95 a night a tax, this is for a room with 2 Queen Beds not a bad deal if you ask me ;) *A Non-smoking room can be had for just $5 a night more  LUV2XCLR8 02-28-2006, 04:05 PM Looks like 8 peeps confirmed so far, gotta b more than that, ttt see ten 02-28-2006, 04:56 PM When I say not big, 100 trucks or so, see the link in the 2nd post :metal:I think last year he had 160 trucks there. I could be way off on that number. This will be the 8th year that my wife and I have been to this show. I know a few years ago when the show was in Sevierville he had over 400 trucks come out. I don't know why attendance has been off. I don't know if the show is just not being promoted or if he has just moved it too many times. Hell, we go to monthly cruise ins that bring out 300-500 rides depending on the weather. It's still a good show but it is definitely shrinking! LUV2XCLR8 02-28-2006, 05:06 PM I think it will increase in #'s this year, even though it is being moved over to MV from PF, the reason I think it will increase because the last site is just to dated and too small, there is supposed to be alot more space in MV, and I think the old site was just dragging the show down (Old site was too cramped, plus 1/2 the vehicles on the lot where hotel guests  1969 C/K CST 03-06-2006, 04:35 PM My option not on the list. Driving up Sat. morning. Driving home later that evening. May even bring a "dizzy driver". LUV2XCLR8 03-06-2006, 04:39 PM My option not on the list. Well of course not, you live in NC   1969 C/K CST 03-07-2006, 09:39 AM Well of course not, you live in NC   Still about an hour and a half or so away. LUV2XCLR8 03-07-2006, 03:42 PM Still about an hour and a half or so away. Oh, I'm so, so sorry, try like 7+ for me  1969 C/K CST 03-07-2006, 04:40 PM Oh, I'm so, so sorry, try like 7+ for me  Yeah, but you can walk(uhmm stumble) to your room. :) LUV2XCLR8 03-07-2006, 04:41 PM Yeah, but you can walk(uhmm stumble) to your room. :) Not a real heavy drinker, not a light one either  1969 C/K CST 03-07-2006, 04:47 PM Looking foward to the event. Saw your post on a cook out. Can't make that one. Way too far. Light the grill, kick back one for me. LUV2XCLR8 03-07-2006, 04:53 PM Looking foward to the event We had a blast last year, I met around 13 members, there was more than that there but I had already met most of them, around 20 total, I think  5150 03-07-2006, 06:15 PM Say that I have no life, and I'll agree. But this is by far going to be the highlight of the year. LUV2XCLR8 03-07-2006, 06:28 PM Say that I have no life, and I'll agree. :agree: But this is by far going to be the highlight of the year. :agree: 71SWBChevy 03-07-2006, 10:53 PM Damnit guys it is looking like I might not be able to make it, got to looking at my calender and that is the weekend before finals! Were you coming by yourself? or with someone? Just bring your books to Tim's booth and somebody will quiz you. LUV2XCLR8 03-08-2006, 03:16 PM C'mon Drew!!!!!! Get your priorities straight!! I will probably be studying that weekend that sucks. Oh well maybe next yearMy wife has been in school for the last 8 years and her finals have also always fallen the week after the Nats. She still came and always brought her books (never opened them). This year she will be graduating on May 5. We will still be there but it is going to be late on Friday. LUV2XCLR8 03-08-2006, 04:44 PM This year she will be graduating on May 5. :cong: 5150 03-08-2006, 05:27 PM Asa, don't tell Drew she never opened her books. Tell him that she got a lot done and aced every test she took when she got back from the Nationals. See Drew, there's a student that goes to the shows and is still graduating. No pressure. LUV2XCLR8 03-08-2006, 08:28 PM Drew, you have to come, some times you just got say "F^ck It" ;) 71SWBChevy 03-13-2006, 12:29 AM I might try to come up for that saturday but i won't be staying the weekend unless all my finals fall at the end of the week then i will say f*ck it and stay the weekend, but yeah i will be coming by myself if i come, unless one of my friends decides to tag along. 5150 03-13-2006, 08:22 AM Well, I was going to get with you Drew and tell you that you could follow us over, but we are leaving on Friday sometime. LUV2XCLR8 03-13-2006, 04:42 PM Well, I was going to get with you Drew and tell you that you could follow us over, but we are leaving on Friday sometime. Same here ;) 71SWBChevy 03-13-2006, 11:46 PM Well I would probably still go up friday night just wouldn't stay saturday night. When it comes closer to that time I may be in touch with you guys, I can get to Pigeon Forge without any problem but I will have to have a map to get to Maggie Valley. 5150 03-14-2006, 08:00 AM That's cool you are going to have to come down my way to get there anyway so if you can tag along that would be cool. Just in case either of us have car problems. REMEMBER EVERYBODY: Saturday night we go out to eat somewhere together. 68Stepbed 03-14-2006, 11:25 AM Hey Drew, If you can get to PF, you can get to MV with no problem. Just stay on I-40 through TN into NC, turn right off the MV exit 20. When you get to the stop light, turn right again. The show will be about 3-4 miles on the left. MV has three roads in and out. One from I-40, one from Cherokee, and one from Waynesville. There will be no need for back roads or odd directions, everyting is right on the main drag. LUV2XCLR8 03-14-2006, 05:13 PM REMEMBER EVERYBODY: Saturday night we go out to eat somewhere together. This was the best part of last years trip!!!, poor old Ruby Tuesday's, they were in no way prepared for us and probably have still not gotten over it :hm: 71SWBChevy 03-14-2006, 09:15 PM Haha so how many people showed up last year? I am looking forward to meeting as many board members as possible at this show. LUV2XCLR8 03-14-2006, 09:51 PM Haha so how many people showed up last year? Around 20, but not every member went to dinner, but we did have about 24 at Ruby's (Members, significant others, and all of Tim's kids) :hm:  71SWBChevy 03-15-2006, 01:29 AM Around 20, but not every member went to dinner, but we did have about 24 at Ruby's (Members, significant others, and all of Tim's kids) :hm:  wow tim got alot of kids? LUV2XCLR8 03-15-2006, 05:59 PM wow tim got alot of kids? Well he has his + all of their friends  71SWBChevy 03-15-2006, 06:31 PM Well he has his + all of their friends  Oh ok  So I found out that I won't have class that Friday so I will probably study for my finals then about what time would you guys be heading out to get there? You guys leave on Friday night or Saturday morning? LUV2XCLR8 03-15-2006, 09:15 PM You guys leave on Friday night or Saturday morning? Well it's a 7 hour trip for me, and check in is around 3 or 4 I think, so let me do the math real quick, I loose an hour from CST to EST, I will probably leave here at 7 ish, be in Nash around 9-10, that will put me in Knox around 12-1, but that is in the EST zone so more like 1-2, so I should be at MV around 3-4, not including stops for gas, and lunch? 71SWBChevy 03-15-2006, 09:39 PM Well it's a 7 hour trip for me, and check in is around 3 or 4 I think, so let me do the math real quick, I loose an hour from CST to EST, I will probably leave here at 7 ish, be in Nash around 9-10, that will put me in Knox around 12-1, but that is in the EST zone so more like 1-2, so I should be at MV around 3-4, not including stops for gas, and lunch? well we will have to talk sometime before then and meet up in nashville or right outside actually because I will probably go around nashville instead of through. LUV2XCLR8 03-15-2006, 09:42 PM I will probably go around nashville instead of through. Hmmmmmm, don't blame ya  How's about Lebanon ??? Anyone else ??? :fb: 71SWBChevy 03-15-2006, 09:58 PM yeah lebanon would be where I would get on the interstate so that would work out great. We need to get us a little convoy going over there, of course I will be in a Grand Prix and not my truck so it wouldn't look as cool to convoy. 5150 03-15-2006, 10:15 PM It doesn't matter what you drive just as long as you get there. That sounds good to me, but I was thinking about leaving a little earlier. Luv, could you leave your house around 5:30 or 6? I know that's early. Exit 238 is the one to meet at. That's at Hwy 231. I think Drew will probably take the same route I'm taking. Through White House-Gallatin-and then Lebanon. LUV2XCLR8 03-15-2006, 10:47 PM Luv, could you leave your house around 5:30 or 6? I guess we could grab some breakfast for the road or something there maybe??? 5150 03-16-2006, 01:20 PM Drew, Actually you come go through Gallatin and go down Hwy 109 until you get to Exit 232. This should be the exit we meet at. It's got some where to eat and it's less traffic then at 238. 71SWBChevy 03-16-2006, 02:54 PM Drew, Actually you come go through Gallatin and go down Hwy 109 until you get to Exit 232. This should be the exit we meet at. It's got some where to eat and it's less traffic then at 238. thats cool, I was thinking when we went to PF for vacation a couple of years ago we didn't take 231 straight to the interstate but I couldn't remember. LUV2XCLR8 03-16-2006, 03:36 PM I'm not picky as long as food is involved :hm: 71SWBChevy 03-16-2006, 05:59 PM I'm not picky as long as food is involved :hm: ok then you need to be rolling into gallatin about 3:30 in the morning, go to the resturant and get a table, me and yellow will be there a little later  LUV2XCLR8 03-16-2006, 06:01 PM ok then you need to be rolling into gallatin about 3:30 in the morning, :m2: 71SWBChevy 03-16-2006, 06:09 PM :m2: haha don't worry man there is no way I would be up at 3:30 in the morning unless there was alot of money involved and then it would be questionable. Up everyday at 4am for work, but it's not alot of money, but it pays the bills  71SWBChevy 03-16-2006, 06:37 PM i can do 4 am in Nov. but thats only because I LOVE deer hunting, other than that 5 am is about as early as I can get up and that is only if I am working on something that I enjoy. When I am in Bowling Green at my dorm I can get up at 7:30 sometimes but most days not until 8:45 LUV2XCLR8 03-21-2006, 06:23 PM ttt ;) 5150 03-31-2006, 10:19 PM 6 weeks away!!!!!!!!!!!
