I'M looking for a shop to replace cam, lifters, anything else that might be wrong with chevy bb. I dont have time or place to do work myself. Any suggested shops in NW Ft Worth or surrounding area? I live just off I820 and Jacksboro.

What kind of problems are you havein? If you are looking to do a rebuild I would go with city motor supply off of 121. I can't really say for repair work as i do all my own repairs.

Cam is trying to jump out of engine. It is hitting the timing gear cover while running. idles fine, drives like crap. Backfires and no power. After talking with several mechanics, friends, and others I've come to conclusion that the cam has worn lobe(s).
When calling around, got est up to $1800 complete rebuild and installed. I only paid $2k for truck.
I have no garage and limited tools. Since I drive a truck for a living, I am limited on home time.

you might be able to put a cam button on it to keep it from walking. I have heard that this can eliminate cam walking.

Keep your cam from walking.
Our Summit cam buttons will keep your cam from walking back and forth in your block, which can cause inaccurate timing and premature timing chain wear. Made from billet aluminum, these cam buttons install with a standard cam bolt locking plate.

Trustworthy and dependable, is Martin's Automotive on Jacksboro highway. I've known Jimmy Martin for 15 years and he's completely honest. I send my own family members to him (I don't work on families vehicles).
