Not a huge deal but a bit annoying. In control panel I check the 'place volume icon in taskbar' box and it is shows up there. However, when I leave the pc for a few hours it is gone--when I go back to the control panel properties it is unchecked. Any ideas?????????

May sound stupid, but when leaving the control panel page for the volume stuff, did you X out or apply/OK your way out. I know for a while I use to do that and it won't save it unless you hit the OK or apply. Only thing I can think of, especially since I have done it a few times.

Yep, I clicked apply and then exited. it's a weird one. . .

it's possible your computer's soundcard software may be overriding the control panel options. that's the only thing i can think of :\

Never thought of that--but it's integrated audio--still a possibility?

Even more of a possibility than normaly, I would think. Most systems with integrated audio that I've seen have a program that's pre-installed with the driver.

I'm with Shifty on this one. My Soyo motherboard had integrated audio. I had the same deal, but I'll be damned if I can remember what I did to correct it. :(

I assume I just found the motherboard program and fixed it, but honestly can't recall.
