Hello everyone, I am new to your board and am restoring a 72 GMC suburban. I would like to put a later frame under it (73thru 91) Is this possible? What issues would I need to look out for? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome.It`s your forum now.Not sure about the specifics,but the frames are different and will need some alteration.Definately body mount locations,I`m sure you realized already.Get the wheelbase measuirements hub center to hub center and go from there.Your`72 probably has leaf springs in the rear,right?You could use the parts from a 73-91 donor to adapt your`72 frame.

Using a donor frame shouldnt be the problem. Check with DMV in your state and make sure that you wont have a problem with the title when finished. I know Calif has a problem with more than one vin. Then they issue a new one through the calif CHP office. I hear it can be a real pain in the fanny.
